Pastor Matt Gregory and wife, Elayna Gregory
Matt grew up in the Shenandoah Valley in Luray, Virginia. After graduating from high school, he attended Liberty University, where he met Elayna, and earned a bachelor of science degree in church ministries. In 1992, he married Elayna and began serving as youth pastor at Open Door Baptist Church in Culpeper, Virginia. While in Culpeper, three sons were added to the Gregory Family. In 2003, Matt had the opportunity to serve as interim pastor at Open Door after long-time pastor and friend, Mark Jarvis left the church. During this year, God began to birth seeds He had long ago planted in Matt’s heart. During 2003, Matt discovered that he enjoyed pastoring all ages (not just students). Matt’s desire to see lives changed and influential leaders reproduced led Matt to join the front lines of ministry: Church Planting.
On April 1, 2004, after much prayer and thought, Matt left Open Door and became a church planter with the Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia. The Gregory Family moved to Bealeton, Virginia on May 31, 2004, to start Soul Purpose Church in Fauquier County.
Matt balances family, church work, financial consulting, continued study toward a master’s degree, along with his love of sports (golf, football, basketball).

Dear Matt G (so you know I am reaching the right one LOL)
I have some computer skills and the ones I dont I learn fast. I was thinking that I can help with this website for you and I know how to do PowerPoints although it has been a while. So just let me know if this would benefit the church. We could do thing like put your sermon on this set or write a daily lesson. I was thinking that we can do some community work. My last church would go to the schools and do a cleaning or ground work. We could clean up areas that are visible to the public. I was walking the dog and noticed a lot of trash around area parks. Just some ideas.
