Life Change

I was born and raised in a Christian home. My family was always very involved in church activities and my parents lived their Christian life and values at home, as well as, in the church.

Unfortunately, as a teenager I made wrong choices in friends and ended up as a rebellious teen, out to please myself and no one else. That went on until I was married. I hurt my parents deeply through my lifestyle choices, for which I will always regret.

Continuing in that wild lifestyle, marrying too young, having two beautiful little girls, and living in a miserable marriage, I finally, at age 24, repented and asked Jesus to be the Lord of my life. I felt like a huge load had been lifted off my shoulders and the joy that I had was unbelievable. I had immediate changes in my life. My husband, however, was less than pleased. He was not a believer and didn’t like the fact that my desires and life had all of a sudden changed. I continued to pray for him, but after ten years of him having numerous affairs, he finally left our family.

Without the support of my church family and the amazing strength and love the Lord provided for me, I wouldn’t have made it through those difficult years. Those were the worst of times, but also the best of times. I drew closer to God during that time than any other time in my life.

I have since remarried, to Mike, who went through similar circumstances with his ex-wife. I feel very blessed that God brought Mike into my life. We are best friends and genuinely enjoy each other’s company. Mike and I have become very active at church and have grown closer in our relationship with the Lord, as well as, each other.

Through all the years of pain and heartache, I can honestly say that I could not have made it through without God’s help. Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”, became, and still is, the verse that I always look to encourage me. Mike and I are now ready to surrender to Him and serve full-time.
